Hi,

Do they really bring good traffic? I am planning to send out Bulletin on mySpace. I had like to hear experiences of others who have taken this approach? :)

Thanks,
Techie

Yes I am getting traffic from facebook. Never tried advertising with Twitter, but yes it does generate traffic. Myspace and multiply doesn't count as a good social site anymore though. Better focus on facebook instead which is the most popular social site right now.

Yes, SMO (social media optimization) is one of the very efficient and powerful activities to divert a huge amount of traffic by doing regular posting of relevant and exclusive content, creating a profile and making huge friends and etc.

My space is a social networking service that has been here for several years now. Though it has slightly been overtaken by Google and Facebook, online marketers are still making good money thorough the tool. The good thing about Myspace is that terms and conditions have been tightened to stop spamming. however, you should trend carefully with this site because there are risks of banning of accounts. Others are frozen or deleted from the site. Invite friends to the site quietly. To be on the safe side concentrate more on giving value.

Google+ works very well for small businesses. Anyone who is not using it should get familiar with it to build their network. Google+ is generally similar to Facebook but with a few unique variations.
* The fan page should be used for business. This is where business related content should be posted.
* Personal page can be used as the fan page to share jokes with friends and family. This way you will not bore them with your business content.
* With the Google+ circles it is possible to get your message to the targeted clientele.
The good thing about Google+ is that you are not limited on the size of content that you post. Not the 140 size characters with twitter. Remember that Google is the king of other search engines which means you have everything to gain from the proper use of Google+.

Social sites seem to be my best bet for generating traffic. Another good thing about these sites is that they are very easy to use to link to your site from. A lot of social networks will automatically link your url for you. The only thing you have to do is use it more for socializing than just spamming. Or else it could work against you.

Off course they do...otherwise you'd have never heard of SMO. All you need is good strategy and proper research work done before getting into it.

have you tried joining like minded groups on facebook, this will then allow you to tag more people in your pictures (pictures that are relivent to what you are trying to promote)

Share viral videos, the kind that spread very quickly over youtube; set up a youtube account and link it to your facebook page (youtube has 2 billion views a day, so the extra traffic will help).

Post relivant content that will aid people, if you have a page about weight loss then post an new tip on weight loss with the benefits and anything you need to watch out for. The more useful the content the more people will recomend you to their friends

hope this helps

advertise effectivly is the thing that makes or breaks most businesses
one of the best ways to do this especially if your a home business is through social medial sights
the reason i saythis is because you can be as specific as you want when it comes to this. For example you can choose the age, location, relationship status as well as many others; all this will help you reach your target market group. Further more if you post on groups and pages its still advertising but its free, but you have to be careful about not coming accross as spam.

Among all the social media sites on the web, You need to chose which is the most relevant for your business. I mean if you are doing B2B marketing, Twitter brings more traffic and if it is B2C marketing, Facebook is the best. You can make your professional network on LinkedIn that is the networking site.

Hi Guys

I have found social sites work very well.

I use three main sites.

They are: Facebook. Twitter and Pinterest.

I find the people on these sites are very responsive.

You can easily link to your site with these.

I am sure there are other sites out there but I have not tried them yet.

I wish you luck with these sites.

Kind Regards

Stephen Hart

With over 1 BILLION users, Facebook is the most useful advertising tool. make sure you read through the advertising rules so you don't get penalized. There are rules such as too many friend requests = at least a 7 day suspension on your ability to send a friend request. The same applies to sending out too many messages in one day.
You can do a search within facebook for pages that will assist you in building your fanpage up the correct way and avoiding these penalties.
