Have a facebook fan page? Your facebook business/personal page needs facebook fans, and the more the merrier.
Did you know there are over 20 million people becoming fans at facebook each day?
we have these 5 tips for facebook fan page promotion.
1-Recommend to your friends.
2-Tell your non facebook friends.
3-Promote the page at your blog or site.
4-Integrate your fanpage with other social networks.
5-Force peoples to like your page.
Hi
To promote your facebook page;
- Select a domain name or get a shortened URL
- Tweet about your page
- Create unique content for your fans
- Start regular drawings
-. Play hide and seek with your fans - Hide something on the page and give small rewards to anyone who finds it.
- Have a place for your fans interaction. e.g start a thread to engage your friends into discussion.
- It pays to acknowledge your fans. - Any time they reply to your wall, write back on their walls.
Best of Luck

Facebook page link is itself a link and you can promote it by doing SEO. If you do not wish to go for SEO then promote it by doing comment and like on other pages. Increase your visibility to other similar business pages so people can know about your page.
I have to agree with Johnny on this one. He laid out the most important strategies so I'm going to expand on the ones that can be done on the Facebook page itself.
Recommending to your friends is a quick way to get your facebook page started. You're limited to how many friends you have though, so it's just to show that people are liking your page and it might be worth other visitors' time. Facebook pages have a invitation feature that allows you to send an invite to each of your friends asking them to 'like' the page.
You could go even further and ask your friends to go beyond that and share the page with their friends, insisting that friends of friends 'like' the page. This can possibly start a chain reaction that could send your page on a rollercoaster ride. Recommendations from your friends is a word of mouth strategy that gives your page a good reputation. At that point, you aren't doing self promotion. Your friends are helping you out.
Telling your non facebook friends that are following you to share or recommend your page. Maybe do a contest or rewards could be given to those posting referrals to your page that result in more likes and a bigger following.
Forcing people to like your page in order to reveal certain content is a very popular strategy that gets pages more likes. You have to give the visitor something they want as a reward for liking the page. There's certain apps on Facebook that allow you to make splash/landing pages for your page with a message or flash screen. Using one to explain what the page has to offer would be a great way to convince people who stumble across your page to 'like' it. It's all about building a following that is interested in what you have to offer. But, it's just as important to give them what they want.

Doing a contest can definitely help. Another thing you can do is to give out sample products so that people refer your page and/or products. Testimonials from friends will get people liking your page more and buying into your product because these are reliable sources for your target market.

Hi Guys
Let me add something else about face book.
A personal profile can only have 5000 likes.
A fan page can have an unlimited number of likes.
A wall is where you write things of interest to other people.
When you post to your personal profile it is also posted on your newsfeeds page which is seen by all of your friends.
This is the viral nature of Facebook.
Hope this helps.

Promoting a brand on facebook needs a good strategy. Just creating a page won't do it for you. You have to be active and keep your page members updated. Post your links on your friend's wall. Also like other relevant pages, share their posts. Be active there also if you can. So it takes time. But definitely gives back you the good result.

We have to create a fan page on the Facebook and also update regularly and build audience for it so that the traffic is automatically driven to the website.

have you tried joining like minded groups on facebook, this will then allow you to tag more people in your pictures (pictures that are relivent to what you are trying to promote)
Share viral videos, the kind that spread very quickly over youtube; set up a youtube account and link it to your facebook page (youtube has 2 billion views a day, so the extra traffic will help).
Post relivant content that will aid people, if you have a page about weight loss then post an new tip on weight loss with the benefits and anything you need to watch out for. The more useful the content the more people will recomend you to their friends
hope this helps
