You can also have additional tabs in FB promoting products and also have opt-in forms, these are great ways to gather potential customers emails for future product releases. Make sure you only do it on appropriate pages though.

I am agreeing with Mark, there are lots of ways, but all depends on the strategy you are implementing. Try to target local area people will help more than doing it globally in some cases. So, it all depends on the product or service you are offering there.

Do not forget FB PPC campaigns, the targeting is very sophisticated, much more though than Adwords for example, and relatively cheap...
